Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process and Policy
Journal of Research, Innovation, and Strategies for Education (RISE)
Introduction
The Journal of Research, Innovation, and Strategies for Education (RISE) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity through a rigorous peer-review process. All reviewers are expected to follow the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers, which ensure fairness, objectivity, and professionalism throughout the review process. This practice not only guarantees the quality and credibility of scholarly publications but also strengthens trust in academic publishing.
- Type of Peer Review
RISE adopts a double-blind peer review process. This means the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review. Authors must upload their title page (containing full author information) as a separate file from the main manuscript to maintain anonymity.
- Reviewer Selection Process
Reviewers are selected based on their subject matter expertise and research background relevant to the submitted manuscript. The RISE editorial board maintains and regularly updates its reviewer database. Authors may suggest potential reviewers, although the editorial board retains full discretion in reviewer assignment. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers before a decision is made by the editor.
- Reviewer Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:
- Originality in research ideas, methods, and findings.
- Methodological rigor and appropriateness.
- Clarity and accuracy in the presentation and statistical analysis of results.
- Proper and thorough citation of previous relevant studies.
- Adherence to ethical standards, including avoidance of plagiarism.
- Contribution and relevance to the field of education research, innovation, and strategies.
While language editing is not the core responsibility of reviewers, they are encouraged to suggest improvements in style and clarity. Final language editing may be done by the editorial team or requested from authors, if necessary.
- Peer Review Workflow
Once a reviewer accepts the invitation to review a manuscript via email, they will proceed to complete the review either by entering their comments in the system or uploading a review file. Reviewers will select one of the following recommendations:
1. Accept Submission – The manuscript is suitable for publication.
2. Revisions Required – Minor revisions are needed and may not require re-review.
3. Resubmit for Review – Major revisions are required, followed by another review cycle.
4. Resubmit Elsewhere – The manuscript does not align with RISE’s scope or standards.
5. Decline Submission – The manuscript is not publishable due to significant weaknesses.
- Review Timeline
The standard duration of the review process is between 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the reviewers' response times. Authors will be notified via email about the progress and outcomes.
- Final Decision
The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript is made by the editor based on the reviewers’ reports and the revisions made by the author(s). This decision will be communicated officially through the journal's editorial system or by email.
