Plagiarism Policy
Introduction
Our journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and academic honesty in all publications. We employ Turnitin, a leading plagiarism detection tool, to ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original and free from plagiarism.
Policy on Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the unethical practice of using someone else’s work or ideas without proper acknowledgment. It includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word from another source without attribution.
- Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one's own previously published work without proper citation.
- Mosaic Plagiarism: Borrowing phrases from a source without using quotation marks or finding synonyms for the author's language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning.
- Accidental Plagiarism: Unintentionally failing to cite sources or paraphrasing without acknowledgment.
Use of Turnitin
All manuscripts submitted to our journal will be checked for similarity using Turnitin. Authors are expected to ensure that their work falls below the 20% similarity threshold before submission.
Submission Process
- Initial Check: Upon submission, the editorial team will conduct an initial plagiarism check using Turnitin. Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or higher will be returned to the authors for revision.
- Revision and Resubmission: Authors must revise the manuscript to reduce the similarity index to below 20% and resubmit within the stipulated timeframe.
- Final Check: A final plagiarism check will be conducted before the manuscript is sent for peer review. Manuscripts failing to meet the 20% similarity requirement will be rejected.
Consequences of Plagiarism
- Minor Offenses: If a small amount of text is found to be plagiarized (below 20%), the authors will be asked to revise and resubmit the manuscript.
- Major Offenses: Manuscripts with extensive plagiarized content (100%) will be outright rejected. Authors may face a ban on future submissions to the journal.
- Published Articles: If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted immediately, and a notice of retraction will be published in the journal. The authors will be blacklisted from future submissions.
